Moving to Valdosta, GA and have question about living in Florida?

understand lot of people work in valdosta live in florida (tax reasons?). given we're large northern city, i'm concerned moving sticks. reasonable live nearer tallahassee , commute valdosta (valdosta state area of town)? map shows it's 60 miles tallahassee , wonder if it's possible make commute in under 45 minutes. again, know nothing tallahassee either. schools not big concern since don't have school age children.
