Fuzzy baby monitors.. normal?

our baby monitor 3 years old , gets fuzzy occasionally. think it's the end of cord plugs monitor. if take out , put in, works. got gift money our baby, due in november, we're going put aside new one, quit using our three-year-old. however, he'll rooming me or several months after born.

when our monitor has fuzzy moments, , it's not getting unfuzzy, make sure can hear noises bedroom hear her. (also, bedroom on living room sit while napping , can hear through floor/ceiling.)

are baby monitors supposed sound fuzzy? thought maybe had monitor out of range, tried right in bedroom next other 1 , still did it.. sure on right channel.
