Why do black guys call each other brother and black girls sisters?

christian, can tell regardless of race, call each other brother , sister often. not related physically 1 in christ.

historically, african americans persecuted , had each other rely on. though weren't family, family. saying "brother" or "sister" used saying "i respect , recognize have similar struggle."

if there not related why call each other brothers , sisters
