I am interested in taking photography lessons. What is the best affordable camera to start with, and should I?

(1) if can afford it, make sure entry-level d-slr rather point-and-shoot. way have easy , immediate access manual controls absolutely essential if you're serious getting photography. in terms of make, prefer nikon. nikon d5000 set $100 more pricey point-and-shoot. sales @ walmart, costco, best buy...

(2) although great learn on, avoid film-based slr @ point. film , processing costs going kill , won't take many images defeats purpose of practice.

(3) online class , community college night course. not pay online course! there plenty of excellent photography training free.

try http://www.freephotocourse.com easy-to-understand advanced , illustrated photography tips, lessons, forum, etc.
