Yet another math brain teaser! How can you form two squares by drawing six lines...?
6 lines:
draw long horizontal line left right. @ right end point draw long going down (2nd line). draw short line left (not longer 1st line). third line. draw line point intersections 1st line dont stop @ point keep drawing (4th line). draw line top left (not long - 5th line). draw line straight down until hits 1st line sixth line.
shape of object imagine square cut 4 equal pieces , remove top right , bottom left piece.
7 lines easy:
draw 1 horizontal line of fixed length. @ each end point draw vertical line going , going down @ same length of horizontal line (so far theres 5 lines). connect vertical lines going (sixth line) , connect vertical lines going down (seventh line). qed
how can form 2 squares drawing 6 lines? how can form 2 squares drawing 7 lines? explain. thanks!! =]
