Look for Toyota Highlander Warranty?

don't think (?) can "extend current warranty" if original toyota "factory warranty". extended warranties provided form of "insurance company" has no connection factory - or selling car dealer. when have break down , want make claim - may lucky able find warranty provider still in business. tend pay claims until "out of money" disappear. same people pop new company. crap[ shoot.
better off take whatever warranty cost ($1000-1500) , invest in "safe security". add $500 every year , can own insurance company.

i have 2005 toyota highlander, warranty going expire on 50,000 mileage, not sure should extend current warranty or switch new provider, know , how choose warranty?
