Can't stop clay from cracking?

put small sculptures in plastic bag loosely closed - open let water dry sculptures.

possibility loose fitting plastic box

clay cracks when dries fast

1 thing can use repair cracks take of clay , mix water form paste. past can sort of thin ketchup or mustard. called slip - material used join raw clay

i love make little sculptures air drying clay,but cant seem avoid them cracking & pieces falling off. i've tried melding cracks when put bits doesn't help. want use superglue last resort. help??
