How do I decode my genealogy numbers-2.3.5.5.1.4.2.?

looks found in genealogy report.

there several numbering schemes. depend on #1. might
2.3.5.5.1.4.2 in relation 4th great grandfather on father's line , 1.1.2 in relation maternal grandmother.

looks like, reading backwards,

second child parents had (or 1 of parents, if whichever in line, mother or father, had children more 1 partner)

mother/father, in turn 4th child

grandparent, his/her mother/father, 1st child

1st great gp 5th child

2nd ggp fifth child

3rd ggp third child

4th ggp 2nd child.

so, supposing ezekial hebediah smith book started with, children 1, 2, 3 4 etc. children of child #2 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc.

if have yourself, on page 14 generations of xerox pimples, first copied in 1973 , passed down , re-copied ever since, don't have chance of figuring out useful it.

something 2nd in line ,3rd removed,etc..)last # think 2nd child,etc
