Why is the Premier of Newfoundland (Canada) getting his heart surgery in the U.S.A.?

since health care provincial responsibility here in canada, maybe there no surgeon or operating room available in newfoundland in doctors considered suitable time frame. when happens other places see if surgery can done sooner, includes other canadian provinces , other countries. if doctors feel can not wait surgery done in newfoundland advise him go elsewhere. in case sent him us, means doctors had found surgeon , facility in take him right away.

find amusing every time there story canadian going type of treatment read how opponents of health care reform in use show canada's national health care system broken. problem theory not have national health care program in canada, health care taken care of provinces assistance in paying transfer of federal tax dollars. health card works in home province, if travel province need same type of travelers health insurance need if visit country.

biggest problems our health care system faces damage done massive cuts these transfers federal liberal government in mid 1990's. every province has been scrambling ever since make funding cuts, has resulted in problems health services every province face today.
