jennifer 29-year-old administrative assistant married antonio, italian engineer, whom jennifer met 4 years earlier while on business trip marketing company. couple lives in nebraska, antonio works county's transportation department , jennifer commutes hour each way marketing office. have been trying start family on year. 8 months ago, jennifer miscarried in second month of pregnancy. antonio's parents love jennifer , ask if expecting again, hoping encourage focus on next baby. jennifer's mother passed away 2 years ago , father's health rapidly deteriorating. jennifer faces probability of placing father in skilled nursing care facility within next few months, against wishes.

@ work, jennifer runs tight ship. organized , prepares lists assure done according schedule. counts on jennifer , takes pride in never letting people down.

jennifer has visited physician numerous times in last 6 months, complaining of headaches, backaches, , indigestion. jennifer insists happy , not feeling stressed, yet finds herself making more mistakes @ work, unable keep housework, , feeling tired , overwhelmed; has begun question effectiveness employee, wife, daughter, , potential mother. pains seem increasing, doctor cannot find physical cause discomfort.
