Chevy Camaro - what to do?

ok have 93 chevy camaro v6 automatic. feel if way heavy , not perform how should due lack of horsepower. want fast not v8. dad wants me subaru 4 cylinder wants me because "some fast" , safe because of 4 wheel drive. oh , way dad , rebuilt major components of engine in camaro virtually new.
can't decided want do, hate subarus because stupid idiots out there try supe them up. want car (price range $4000 maybe $5000 if put more hours work) perform want to. want more of feeling of acceleration being pushed in seat, guess im saying should keep v6 camaro , try , supe lil or should try , find else faster , more reliable (reliability make dad happy).
