What is the tattoo etiquette for an imperfect tattoo?

had baseball sized tattoo done on shoulder. reputable tattoo artist , owns shop. decided liked idea of making quarter sleeve. went same artist , free handed it. when tattoo healed realized unhappy messy top part of tattoo (which spontaneously added on to) , looks unbalanced. after going him twice tattoo rude try artist? or should give him shot @ fixing tattoo?
