How the heck do i "add" a printer to my computer docuements or whatever? Crap!?

sooo set printer , all, when go docuement , want print something, says have set printer?

becuase not using microsoft word using wordperfect 11? need done because typed many things out school, , if cant printed out today, have tomorrow mornig in 20 minutes, have hole punch them , organize them through binder, along reading lot of direction on how it!!

please tell me how it, when click file, print, won't print , have add printer.
happen because out of ink?? feel helpless, im cry.
