Problems with a new 2010 Subaru Forester built-in GPS Navigation system.?

we're finding instruction pictures, subaru gps virtually useless, continually wanting u-turn. we're resorted using our older-trusty garmin nuvi, intuitive , logical use. can't imagine why such poor/complicated system included fine car. i'll contacting dealer/manufacturer compensation if can't unit working correctly..any other suggestions appreciated.
