Does anyone else make boat tarps?

have done before decent results on both boat , motorcycle tarps. use common contact cement join cut edges , joints pieces of tarp overlap. cutting pattern out of tarp material easy do. first have determine shape tarp going make. make pattern out of paper or cardboard (i use poster board, cheap) small or intricate sections of custom jobs. large areas of tarp, have found easier drape on object tarped , determine cut points material folds around object. comes cuts themselves. note there lot of wasted material in process dont alarmed. use regular old scissors large area cuts , razor knife or exacto knife intricate cuts. remember leave 1 inch overlap on each side of joint area cementing , overlapping. next comes cementing part. first clean overlapping edges of joints acetone. coat both overlapping flaps generous amount of contact cement. once has became tacky (about 1 min of drying time) press overlapping flaps , use rolling pin coated in corn starch roll air bubbles out of joints. let joints dry minimum of 36 hours. if add rope tighten bottom edge of tarp need find fabric eyes. these nifty little brass pieces allow cut small hole in tarp , press 2 piece assembly eye hole , crimp together. can run rope or nylon line through these fabric eyes , use them cinch tarp closed around bottom lip of boat or underside of motorcycle. hope helps. luck. can save money going truck stops , buying old semi truck trailer tarps truck drivers , truck garages replace tarps once every other year. can 45 foot long section of tarp truck driver less 60 bucks, heck of lot cheaper buying heavy gauge nylon tarp material online or locally.
