no. vat tax not used in united states.

value added tax tax added selling price of product made.

example:
iron ore processed - value added
iron ore smelted steel - more value added
steel cut , welded trailer - more value has been added
trailer sold consumer , vat tax 3 above transitions included in price , not shown tax. matter of fact illegal show vat tax amount.

hi college student, , started ebay account.

wondering, if purchase textbook or off ebay, there value added tax (vat) involved?
