The term break a leg?

i'm little annoyed question posted while ago "where did term "break leg" come from?" never answered correctly. noticed now, it's unfortunate resolved. real answer in olden times, there curtain behind main curtain called "leg". if singer or performer enough given encore after performing song, come onstage behind curtain, sweeping aside came, in essence "breaking leg". bow , receive more applause, and/or repeat performance. term "break leg" meant called onstage. hope informative! learned singing teacher :).
