How can I convince my parents to let me do musical theater?

love doing musical theater lot! in school musical fall, , sooo fun. wanna continue doing theater outside of school. don't have amazing voice, , i'm kind of shy, have no chance of getting lead. i'm totally happy being in ensemble. parents think musical theater waste of time because i'm not learning anything, , won't me in life. hate driving me rehearsals. really need convincing them! please me!!!
