Jon boat Deck fasten HELP?

whenever fix boat it's best follow few simple rules.
1/ use high quality stainless fittings. lesser quality screws etc corrode.
2/ use quality sealant such "sikaflex". make submersible standard sealant.
3/ put sealant on both sides fo fittings.
4/ if drill timber such transom or stringers, preferable resin coat these holes ensure remain water tight.
5/ buy cheap, buy twice. buy best quality fittings can afford.

when fasten wooden frames to boat drill right side of boat? there "seal" on other end? how not leak?
