frank aggressively fought reform efforts bush administration. told new york times on sept. 11, 2003, fannie mae , freddie mac’s problems “exaggerated.” exaggerated? fannie , freddie housing market collapsed , fell “great recession.”

on june 27, 2005 barney frank stood on floor of house of representatives , told america there undue concern housing market , though prices growing housing market not dot.com industry, housing bubble not burst.
