Anyone know any good genealogy sites?

best free site, extensive database www.familysearch.org. owned , operated lds church, puts great importance on family history. wouldn't site user friendly, getting better , don't think can find larger database of genealogical records accessible free.

can try www.rootsweb.com, owned , operated ancestry.com. there free records on site, because tied ancestry.com may find many 'opportunities' search ancestry.com , start trial them. 1 databases free on rootsweb.com (and think familysearch.org well) social security death index, think relatively up-to-date.

2 sites great places start from. if more family history research, despite costing money, ancestry.com far leader. have billions of records , site easy use.

i have been looking out of interest ancestry online, every site try ends requiring subscription see records. know of totally free, informative ancestry sites?
