Is the gamin colorado 400i good for recreational boating?

400i work inland lake navigation needs may have problems because not water proof. , reviews state screen not bright enough outdoor use.

recommendation @ garmin 76csx, designed marine use, waterproof (submersible 3') , can set power boats, sailboats or automobiles.

own 1 , pleased it. worked in both our power skiff @ 55mph , our sailboat @ 6 knots. we're in pnw , have of uscg charts area loaded on it.
1 of nice features includes tide tables coastal waters.
