2005 Toyota Sienna died while driving, may be timing belt?

have beautiful 2005 toyota sienna xle, 74,000 miles on it, came road trip spain. 3 days later while driving..it went kaput. aa guy came out, tried jump it, nothing. thought alternator. towed new shop , mechanic there thinks may timing belt , engine failure. normal mileage , toyota sienna known happening? cost involved replace engine if bad , worth it? more efficient send local toyota dealership here in uk though don't have model in country? mechanics better off looking @ it? , considerations.
