Do I need to pay for Canada customs if the shipping method I paid for is USPS Priority Mail International?

i'm canada , ordered item small company located in michigan, u.s.
questions are:

1.) canadian customs? sort of random inspection , if package chosen have pay fee?

2.) need pay additional fees (canada customs)?
total amount paid 170 usd$. around 40 usd$ shipping (usps) part of 170 usd$ total. also, total weight of package 10-12 pounds.
