What German car besides Volkswagen in the last 20 years or so is the most reliable ?

when comes used german cars, volkswagen least reliable car, cheaply built when compare them rest, , that's because cost 2-3x less rest. work/sell on german cars living , have had many on years, i'm not talking out of a$$. audi's little better quality, still not same bmw , mercedes, , audis not easy work or diy bmw or mercedes. used have 2003 audi a8, , loved car when running properly, 1 year having more enough. high mileage ones mercedes, see plenty of on 200-300k miles still running strong, while bmw's around $200k miles more rare, , hardly ever see audi or vw many miles.
if can spend $10k, choices limited cars 2002 , before. in usa best deal in opinion 2000-2002 e320 mercedes (w210 chassis e-class), can find plenty low-mid range mileage ones around $10k. people tell mercedes quality wasn't during years because, w210 chassis pretty 1 in opinion. come in 4-matic version (4 wheel drive) thing have if drive lot in snow. make sure 1 full service records , don't forget inspection mercedes mechanic, part important.
2001-2003 bmw 530i (e39 chassis) choice, sell around same price 2000-2002 mercedes e320, , pretty similar.
audi a6 2000-2002 (c5 chassis) or audi a4 2001-2003 (b6 chassis) sell around same price e320 , 530i, in opinion mercedes , bmw more reliable, easier work on, , better built audi. test drive them , judge then. luck.
remember find indipendent mechanic works on german cars , make him friend, because going dealer put big hole in pocket, regardless of kind of car is. dealer warranty work or if money not issue.

i fine nice looking, decent gas mileage , luxury model won't give me problems if has high miles.
tend way older 5 series bmw 's , hear people older mercedes better built cars.
