Buying a Used Subaru, need help!?

of late 90s subarus had head gasket problems. that's thing i'd wary of.

have 98 outback has small head gasket leak , has developed front seal leak. none of expensive since own work, if can't replace yourself, head gasket becomes expensive fix.

2 tests done;

compression test find large head gasket leaks, or bad rings , valves.

combustion gas test on cooling system detect exhaust gasses leaking in coolant leaking gasket.

subarus great cars , recommend buying one. sure make informed decision.

i looking buy used subaru in price range of $3,000 $8,000. looking wagon or suv, reliable , can handle snow , hills (thats why getting subaru). year , model people suggest buy or stay away from?
