What is wrong with my 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio braking system?

hey there,

hope can me out.

noticed 2000 vw cabrio having problems stopping (my foot going pretty far ground, not stopping once able do). brother noticed grooves on 4 rotors, replaced them, brakes.

unable use car, still had same problem, plus brake warning light , abs light. put in abs rings (which got rid of abs light), , played around e-brake cable (which removed brake light). brake pedal still went floor.

next rear calipers , master brake cylinder. after bleeding brakes, 4 brakes have pressure when car not running. however, once car turned on, brakes go down floor. did not attempt see if grabbing on road or not.

wasn't ongoing problem; car seemed have issues stopping 2 weeks before replaced brakes , rotors, , had problems quick stops , after rainstorm. have clues wrong? much!
