Why do squirrels catch each other?

squirrels naturally territorial animals. single squirrel's territory can range single tree 50 of them. fight, in bite each other, not risk injury. instead size each other until 1 backs down - loser run away, winner chasing after them. may fight on mating rights - 2 males either physically fight or size each other while female(s) watch on in awe...

i wondering why squirrels chase each other around trees. playing or killing each other or what?! lol playing tag?
