Network PC AND laptop to printer?

you'll need network pc , laptop, if they're not already, , share printer upstairs pc....

on upstairs pc:
1. in start menu, right click on computer , select properties. when properties window opens, select computer name tab. need check here name of workgroup is, default workgroup. computers sharing resources (such files or printers) need have same workgroup name.

2. in start menu, go control panel. select printers , faxes. right click on printer , click 'sharing...'. click button says 'share printer'.

on downstairs laptop:
1. again, check workgroup name right-clicking on computer in main menu. should tell on main screen somewhere. make sure same other computer, if not change it.

2. in main menu, go control panel , devices , printers. click add printer @ top.
choose install network printer , click next. should find printer in list select , finish wizard.

thats it!

my pc connected printer,it has xp installed,and upstairs,my laptop downstair , has windows 7 installed,can give me instructions on how network them both printer,with step step instructions
