WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY(ROCKETS,AIRCRAFT) CAN THEY EVEN TRAVEL HALF THE SPEED OF LIGHT?


not yet. but, may have breakthroughs soon. 50,000 mph being offered in plasma rockets. should able around inner solar system in under 2 months within next 25 years. read below laser propulsion, reach speed of light, if probe able withstand it.

plasma way go, now, , thrust plasma @ extreme velocity (probably 10% lightspeed) impulse engine of sub-light speed. @ moment can possibly go 75,000 mph...although experimental. bets are, feasible short bursts. on constant 50,000 mph bit tricky, however, because 1/2 way through trip have reverse thrusters. btw, if travel 50,000 mph mars non-stop until got there, take 29 days travel 35 million miles when mars , earth orbit closest every 2 years.

someday, routine, , cargo may still need ordered year in advance later part of century, because wider orbits tend use less energy, reducing shipping costs. (yes, someday lot of stuff made on mars...because greener have done off-planet, , crop growing more consistent, delicious in sandy soil, , hydro-electricity super easy generate on mars - throw permafrost on trench in water main hooked turbine. lot of trenches on 25,000 ft straight down, near val marinaris or off skirt of olympus mons (20,000 ft skirt, plus 75,000 ft summit).

still not have technology handle head pressure @ our turbine generators, whether on earth or mars...so available electrical energy industrial class power infinite us. means - making steel on mars cheaper on earth - lot of different types of manufacturing, once builds realizes - when put total manufacturing package (helper plants neighbors - infinite available power - cheap , plentiful minerals)...businesses begging mars , set up. (that means tomorrows jobs going on mars.) asteroids can mined too, plants located on mars, asteroid bases. (hey, astronauts have have off-time, right? why go way earth, when launch vehicle on mars?)

how ship earth, ask? rockets expensive. haven't heard of rail-gun technology yet? navy 13,000 mph...enough send stuff home surface of mars ton per package, using abundant hydro-electricity. load 'em up! merely have in gear, , develop receiver system above earth. ready, technologically. can sending packages mars mere dollars once infrastructure in place send mini capsules in bulk, same or less trucking. of course, trucking , mail not go away...or how expect ebay on mars stuff door, huh?

think reach light speed...it probes 1st. build terrawatt laser (scientific american mentioned new petawatt laser in works, can sustain terrawatt last decade) , place near val marinaris trench on mars (30,000 ft of hyro-electric turbine head pressure , minus third of earth gravity, still 10,000 ft of earth-like head pressure), awesome hydro-electric power. throw stream of melted permafrost on cliff in 12" main hooked turbine. siphoning power trick. make huge hopper, , throw slush in tractor load. need more power launch laser pushed probe near speed of light? build generator next it!
