Since when are pennies not legal tender??? Do I have a Case?
coinage act of 1965 says:
"united states coins , currency (including federal reserve notes , circulating notes of federal reserve banks , national banks) legal tender debts, public charges, taxes , dues. foreign gold or silver coins not legal tender debts."
key word debt, , if parking ticket means in debt county or state. means if owe them $200 can pay them $200 worth of pennies (20,000 pennies) , can not refuse payment because coinage act says coins 'legal tender debts....'.
few weeks ago got bogus ticket worth $200, , such decided pay them 20,000 pennies. refused take pennies , on top of unlawfully detained 4 hours failure follow orders ( order was: pay in bills, debit, check,,, no pennies). , since insisted on paying them pennies decided detain me. furthermore had 1 day left pay fine, didnt happen refused take payment, , 1 of officers told going issue bench warrant against me unpaid fine (wtf!!!). furthermore 20,000 pennies had have magically been reduced 16,000 pennies $160 (wtf), have receipt bank states changed $200 20,000 pennies.
not did refuse take payment, unlawfully detained me, stole $40 (4,000 pennies) me, , might have bench warrant (doubt it), , not apply charge late payment on top of $200 ticket.
can do,, sue them??? contact fed's ???
