How to get over shyness?

shy , ever since left school, ive done nothing.
have no friends or anything, live parents , sister, go out not lot. love act career have no confidence join group.
have ideas?

think shyness has affected confidence lot, feel little wary of walking outside door during week, because feel staring because feel im fat.
