How is dance a sport? opinions?

im not trying disrespectful im not gonna lie dont see dance sport. dont see gymnastics or cheerleading sports either. see more art forms. have few friends dancers , gets brought on how dance sport dont think is. , main argument friends give because dance, cheerleading, , gymnastics , harder football, soccer etc. last time checked sport wasnt considered sport how difficult is. play volleyball , portion of population consider sport , volleyball not hard, in fact not hard @ u have know control. wondering y u guys consider dance, cheerleading, gymnastics or others sports or y not. again trying not affend anyone. :)
