Fix hole in bottom of fiberglass boat?

have sunfish sailboat. while trailering, went on bump, roller on front of trailer disintegrated (dry rot) , support mounting punched through bottom of boat. have bought marine tex white repair not sure whether should 1 pass process or more 1 application. experience , recommendations?
