Did the Romans actually destroy Jerusalem and the Temple ?? If not ! What is this Roman sculpture depicting ?

first-hand account of roman assault on temple comes jewish historian josephus flavius.

"...the rebels shortly after attacked romans again, , clash followed between guards of sanctuary , troops putting out fire inside inner court; latter routed jews , followed in hot pursuit right temple itself. 1 of soldiers, without awaiting orders , no dread of momentous deed, urged on supernatural force, snatched blazing piece of wood and, climbing on soldier's back, hurled flaming brand through low golden window gave access, on north side, rooms surrounded sanctuary. flames shot up, jews let out shout of dismay matched tragedy; flocked rescue, no thought of sparing lives or husbanding strength; sacred structure had guarded such devotion vanishing before eyes.

while temple ablaze, attackers plundered it, , countless people caught them slaughtered. there no pity age , no regard accorded rank; children , old men, laymen , priests, alike butchered; every class pursued , crushed in grip of war, whether cried out mercy or offered resistance.
