USB printer not working?

did install software printer. printer should have , install cd it. if not can go printers web site , download correct driver or software. printers when install not supposed plug in usb cable until instructions on screen tell to. if not have software need download , install driver. printers don't plug in , start printing. need install driver or software. type of printer have? if not sure doing feel free e-mail me.
