Macbook Aluminum 13 inch battery not working as advertised?

hey got refurbished macbook aluminum 13 inch, , battery advertised 7 hours, barely lasts 1 hour >.> can take apple store , have them replace free? warranty/protection plan cover? live in poland purchased computer in usa, affect anything? don't want buy new battery can use computer without plug @ school... i'm pretty broke after buying machine in first place :(
