Is it different skiing behin a big boat?

week ago @ camp went kneeboarding behind small ski boat , felt in control , didn't feel going fast. stayed fo 10 minutes , fine. wasso excited come home , show parents have 28 foot double engine boat. tried kneeboarding , skiing behind today , felt different. felt flying , wasn't going on 20 mph. felt powerful, big wake, , dra on water fast , afraid fall off. there supposed big differnce between these boats when kneeboarding , tell me experience. thanks.
