Home theater system buying?

many companies make called home theaters in box (htib). few worthy of mention. , cost considerably more many consumers willing pay. in world of home theater, quality everything. many htib's poorly constructed overseas parts supplied lowest bidder. have flip on & see made determine why performs poorly. htib's limited in flexibility & functions play few sources capable of doing. times sound poor due limited power & limitations of speakers frequency range. poor sound attributed poor workmanship on low quality circuit boards. soldering done automated machine leads bleed on of electrical connections. of course shipping starting far away. spends months in extreme temp changes while in cargo containers.
best way go looking home theater consider hobby. has different tastes in way prefer sound. sounds not ideal me. treating hobby able construct surround sound theater sounds better real theater. using high quality products can achieved. needed @ minimum receiver, 5 speakers, & sub woofer. it's preferred front 3 speakers made same company & same line of speakers achieve consistent sound across front of room. center channel being important because give dialogue. needs clean & clear high quality speaker. other things @ in receiver inputs. needs have new hi def decoding hi def sources. called dolby hd & dts - master audio. receiver needs 2-4 hdmi inputs , pre-outs channels in case want further expansion stronger amps. high end speakers require more power lower end receivers capable of driving.
in world of high end audio, prices of products astronomical. there many places can buy them used can trial & error have done. it's taken me decade plus have & see it, think there isn't there. quality sure is. i'm using yamaha receiver, marantz & conrad-johnson amps, sony video, audioquest wiring, panamax power conditioning, , legacy speakers. of sitting on tubular steel stand billy bags. said, it's not quantity, it's quality. day!

can buy theater system play dvd or cds has mp3 player aux line input? want replace cd player , dvd player , consolidate one? ideas?
