My boat livewell fills and then overflows into the boat, but I don't know why.?

have 1988 procraft fish n ski 1880v. has livewell in front , 1 in back. 1 fills when turned on , front 1 fills put in water. have taken boat out numerous times without having problem. today took boat out , noticed cooler storage compartment in front (its plastic compartment has drain in bottom of it) overflowing boat , front livewell overflowing boat well. turned boat around , took out of water. @ home put water hose hole front livewell pulls water , livewell started filling up. once livewell got half full storage compartment started filling up, , both compartments filled , started overflowing boat. can figure things out short of putting stopper in front livewell hole , not using front livewell, have no idea why of sudden happening, what's causing it, or how fix it. know problem here?
