Are these periods of art in chronological order?

there no easy answer because art doesn't develop in nice neat time line. mannerism developed reaction renaissance art, need move ahead of baroque. roccocco type of called baroque. classicism used variously mean art of ancient greece , rome (so fit ancient art), or art refers art of period - neoclassicism classicism. neoclassicism , romanticism overlap time-wise - 2 sides of same coin.

modernism general term encompassing many art movements impressionism through 1960s/70s, when contemporary art emerged. art nouveau began in 1890s, overlapped fauvism. fauvism started before cubism. surrealism , expressionism both began in 1920s.

think last answer right - need go library , research. there several books give overviews of art movements - dates, main artists, main works, , might include movements haven't mentioned - dada, constructivism, futurism, abstract expressionism, pop art name few.
