Medical Insurance and Supplemental Insurance (paying for pregnancy)?

okay, husband , start trying conceive 3-6 months now. not have medical insurance provided through work need explore other options. also, both full time college student however, school not provide student medical insurance. have found student insurance policies cover emergency room visits.

have looked getting private insurance. seems 'selecthealth' , 'blue cross blue shield' both have maternity coverage, however, maternity deductibles run between $5000 , $6500.

have found supplemental insurance can deductable that's bit confusing.

have experience going through private insurance , or using supplemental insurance?

other suggestions paying baby appreciated!
