What to look for when buying a used Subaru?

listen noisy wheel bearings. $500 each.
@ 4 tires uneven wear. tires should same on car, shouldn't have 2 new , 2 worn tires, can damage awd.
head gasket replaced? take off radiator cap engine cold , see if full. drive car, , lift hood. if gasket bad smell it, maple syrup, , might see steam above cylinder banks (mine leaked on drivers side). subaru recommends using cooling system conditioner/stop leak on cars. available @ dealer $2.00.
check electrics, sunroof, mirrors, etc.

i'm planning on getting 2001 subaru outback 58,500k miles $8,500. seems it's true , know subaru's have high rate of head gasket failure. there should on out for?
