Problems with a 96 Pontiac Trans Sport?

bought 1996 pontiac trans sport 2 weeks ago. service engine light on, dealer assured me no problem. 12 hours later, there smoking slightly. there hardly water in it, added proper coolant , fine, aside being able smell antifreeze outside. when start van, there loud ticking sound. started 3 days ago , thought because cold (perhaps?). also, when put van in park , turn off, there slight rattle sound steering wheel area, marbel rolling around. suggestions please? , not "take mechanic". obvious poor!!
