History Major: what to expect?

hello,
interested in military history (specifically second world war) , @ community college. aiming classes towards social sciences , humanities may lean towards becoming history major.
however, know after major in history obtained. employment? avoid teaching, although open becoming college professor. love work in museum, there none in area. have recommendations work or general advice history major path?
