How to remove the intake manifold in a Pontiac Torrent?

2006 pontiac torrent had symptoms of cracked head. boyfriend had in garage , has pulled many parts off @ heads. has gone smoothly until got removing intake manifold. bolts out feels there spring or holding down. can lift little can't see what's holding on, rrrrr! know how off?

while doing research read model known needing manifold gasket , bolts replaced. have hit road block till can part off.

please help!! , yes, 10 points :) thank help.
