Subaru Outback roof leak?

bought used 2001 subaru outback , discovered after heavy rainstorm water had entered rear tailgate area. clear water had entered on either side roof, seatbelt anchor points in roof. please note this car not have sunroof. every post i've seen far people leaking sunroofs. source of water??
