I updated my website, now what do I do with my old seo 'ranked' pages?

hi,
website bit outdated made new wordpress site looks more modern. upload, need know correct way handle 'old' site, it's been 2 years , pages ranked in search engines. i'm thinking should keep old pages on server while (how long?) , somehow make 'redirects' old pages new? maybe i'm wrong?
if can offer guidance or direct me tutorial.
