URGENT HELP WITH MAC AND PRINTER! 10 POINTS GIVEN FIRST ANSWER!?

installing necessary drivers/software onto mac?
here canon link drivers/software printer , mac:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/p...

because if finds printer, doesn't mean knows how print without correct printer driver installed.

try downloading , installing latest driver/software can make difference, try adding printer again.

once installed, try rebooting mac see if helps find printer.

so mac finds printer (canon mx870)
when press file print, doesnt show in list of printers
went system preferences , keeps finding scanner not printer

help!
