How do I focus on more then one face when doing portrait photography?

hello all.

beginning portrait photography.

noticed camera has 1 focus point when using aperture priority mode. how make sure focuses on 2 faces? rather one, , blurring out other?

there recommended setting taking portrait photography (outdoor). focus mode, , other settings - wise?
